Carrie performing arts may 2023 1Our performing arts students celebrated standing ovations at their recent production of Carrie the Musical.

From castings and rehearsals to showtime, the group thoroughly enjoyed gaining the professional experience of being in a show and performing in our drama studio.

Eleaner Alderson, FdA Performing Arts student, said:

“When I found out we were doing Carrie I was so excited as I loved the 2013 adaptation of the movie but had never seen the musical. I enjoyed developing my character as Margaret White, the mother of Carrie. This was a very different role for me but I absolutely loved it! I threw myself into the role, without thinking about what I looked like. I am very proud and it was great to perform with my degree course mates, as well as the Level 3 cast.”

Roman Wetheridge, Year 1 Level 3 performing arts student, commented:

“My Carrie experience as Tommy Ross is definitely something I will never forget. From the rehearsal room to the stage, everyone put in 110% to make it happen. The show was outstanding, we pushed to be our best and I cannot thank NCD enough for the experience.”

Freya Graham, Year 1 Level 3 performing arts student said:

“Performing as Carrie in the musical has been such a surreal experience and I will never forget it. We felt like a family during rehearsals. We also received outstanding support from our tutors to complete the written and performance work. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to share the stage with. Thank you!”

Our talented actors and singers received rave reviews from their audience across both shows.

“It was thrilling and overwhelming in an amazing way. It was so professionally done.”

“From start to finish, the production was so professional.”

“The destruction scene felt so real!”
